Blood Moon
Arose before five
Sipped coffee came alive
Tied our shoes leashed the dog
Morning walk (not a jog)
Promised lunar eclipse “blood moon”
Alas the clouds covered too soon
To visualize the red globe
“Oh please sky, would you disrobe?!”
We know you are there
Behind the pink glare
Reveal yourself wholly
Quickly or slowly
The clouds never broke
Blood Moon hidden “neath their cloak
Lack of sight dimmed our zeal
But we did not doubt the real
Could it be a sign
From the Divine?
“I am here
Be of good cheer”
Sometimes a mere tint
Or words in small print
Will have to suffice
When seeing the Full sure would be nice.
